Born and raised in rural Northumberland County, just outside the Hamlet of Grafton, Christina Wilson is a teacher and a dedicated school Steward with the local Elementary Teachers’ Union.
A descendant of five generations of farmers, Christina is deeply committed to ecological agriculture and sustainable practices that support healthy eating. She lives this commitment on her 26 acres of farm, forest, and protected swampland, which she shares with her parents, nephew, and two children.
Seeing how the pandemic affected her neighbours made Christina more aware than ever of the need for programs like Universal Basic Income—initiatives that ensure no one is left behind.
Christina was moved to run with the Green Party because she believes rural communities are too often ignored or misunderstood by mainstream political parties. She’s determined to be a strong, clear voice for rural people in government.
At home in rural Grafton, Christina is active in the local United Church, the Grafton Green Thumbs, and, like many parents, spends plenty of time driving her children to their activities.
As a mother, Christina worries about the world we’re leaving to future generations. She is unwavering in her call for real climate action. Grounded in the values of ecological wisdom, she also believes in investing in green industries and building sustainable, community-rooted job opportunities.
